We pulled lane 25-26 again and this time for a 4 games.  That makes 6 of 8 games bowled on this pair.  Most of the league hates the pair. So I decided to give the secretary a hard time and asked her what we did to tick her off so we got the pair again.  She just laughed and said well at least you shouldn't have to bowl them much more this summer.

During warm-ups I tried the Lane#1 Viper, too early breaking, the Smokin' Inferno, too long and no real reaction on the back end, Total NV, a little too long but maybe later in the night, and the Black Widow, just long enough with a strong reaction at the backend.  I decided on teh Black Widow to start.

Game 1 was not pretty.  I had an inconsistent release and sent a few into rather than on the lane.  It suddenly occurred to me that I just might need some tape added.  I added 1 3/4 inch piece and 1 1/2 inch piece to get the right fit.  I finished strong for a 163.

Game 2 proved the tape addition was the key.  I had a clean game for 9 frames with a 4 bagger tossed in for good measure.  I had a 2 pin to convert and got stupid, pulling the arm inside the shoulder to miss right by 5 boards.  It was a good game, but not as good as it should have been 211.

I noticed the Black Widow was breaking earlier and earlier even with moving deeper inside.  I decided to give the Total NV a try in game 3.  It took a few frames to make the right adjustment.  With an 87 in the 5th I was off and running 5 in a row followed by a 7 count spare and a 224 game.  That is my highest ever on the sport pattern.  It also gave me a 598 for the front 3, another first for me.  Had I converted the 2 pin, I would have 600+.

Game 4 I lost the line and kept moving inside.  After a few washouts, I moved outside to about 8 and aside from a split, was clean.  Unfortunately the move was too late to completely recover.  I had to settle for a 142 and a 740 series.  This was another high for me on the sport pattern, 

I am now at a 173 average after 8 games.  645 week 1 and 740 week 2 ... I look forward to what week 3 will hold maybe my first sport 800 for 4???

To end the night I again approached the secretary and asked her what the fee was to remain on 25-26 the rest of the summer.  She said she bet the league would approve a rules modification to allow it.  That was until I told her we also took 5 of 6 points, then she said it might not be as easy a sell.
