Week 3 of the Sport League was a mix of ugly and awesome. I was the ugly and my subs were the awesome. I had the pleasure of bowling with my coach, Juan, and a friend and awesome bowler Doane. My regular team members were 1 in Canada and the other had theater tickets. Our secretary had arranged for Doane and I had previously asked Juan, but had not received an answer. Since he was scheduled to coach the secretary' son Monday afternoon, she suggested I convince him it was a good night to sub. At my lesson Sunday, he agreed to bowl.
It was a treat for me to be able to bowl with the two of them. The have the smoothest arm swing and release. Juan held our team up with his consistency 187-185-196-197. Doane struggled a little, but did what was needed for the wins, 5 out of 6 points.
I never got much of anything going. My weakness is my swing plane is not consistent. It isn't off a lot, just enough to cause the ball reaction to vary and make adjusting difficult. Juan told me the release was good to great all night, but the inconsistent swing kept me from getting high scores. 139-166-172-136.
Oh well a week off and then back to knocking down the pins. Vegas and Reno are on the agenda for this week. Vegas for the Coaching Summit & BowlExpo, Reno for Nationals.
